Today was a beautiful sunny and cold day in Victoria. Probably the coldest day of winter we’ve had yet, about -2. So we decided to drive out past Sooke to the trail head for Mystic Beach.
It was a nice forest path with a few necessary enhancements. There was even a short suspension bridge.
It was pretty damp in a few places, which is to be expected I guess in January on the island.
We then took a bunch of stairs down to the ocean and had cold lunch on the beach.
The tide was coming in and the waves were really loud. I tried to take a video to capture the sound but it doesn’t really come through as well. It does show how nice Mystic Beach was though so I thought I’d include it anyway.
And we caught a nice sunset on the drive home. It was a lovely day.
