Saturday was scheduled to be our walking day. I had a few places I wanted to stop at.
As per usual, we were up early and couldn’t wait to get our day started. As soon as I saw the blue sky and sun, I was ready to go. The high for Saturday was 24 celsius.
Portland has a lot of interesting urban spaces.
Portland is also known for it’s large cycling community (mostly hipsters on fixies or single speeds).
I also wanted to check out Tanner Springs park which is a tiny wetlands in the middle of a residential/urban space. It’s apparently an old contaminated industrial space that some urban planners decided to renew by re-purposing a lot of the industrial materials to create a green space. It was neat.
We also visited the Portland weekend market which was very big and VERY busy. I really enjoyed the market and we came across this cello player Martin Watkinson and he was AMAZING. He had a loop pedal and it was really good:
After our long day of walking we went for dinner at a Peruvian restaurant called Andina. The food is just spectacular and I meant to get pictures, but we were apparently enjoying ourselves so much that I only got a couple.
And here is Kirby looking exhausted at the prospect of dessert.
