our adventures

Christmas 2015

Once again, Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye. Kirby and I both worked Christmas eve until about noon, and then we came home and packed the car and hit the road to Montreal. It was 16 degrees.

Once we were settled in at Bill and Sylvie’s, with Isabelle and David and his girlfriend Sandrine, we all poured ourselves a glass and snacked on Sylvie’s delicious appetizers.

We opened a few presents.

And Sylvie opened a gift from her sister, a buddha board, which provided some added entertainment for the evening.

Then we ate a delicious feast which Sylvie prepared.

And we ate and drank and were merry and opened a small mountain of presents. It was a wonderful Christmas eve.

The next day we drove to Magog and then went to Lennoxville with Mom and Michael to see Beorn and Sabrina and the kids. It was so much fun watching Parker and Crosby open presents.

Crosby got the Avenger action figures for Christmas and Parker showed me his favourite: Ultron. For the record, mine is Thor.

We had raclette and fondu for dinner, which was chaotic and delicious.

And that night I got to dodge tidal waves and help with the boys’ bath.

The next day (Boxing Day), my mom hosted the big family Christmas dinner and gift exchange and since our family grew by 3 this year, we were almost 30 in the house.

When we got back to Ottawa, we had a big snow storm the next day and Kirby went straight to work.

Then he was forced to lie on the couch and deal with our very needy cat.

And as I write this, on January 10, it is pouring rain and 5 degrees outside. What a strange winter this will be.
